| Vlam nog niet gevonden? |

Last night I dreamt I was having a phone-conversation with Julian Casablancas.
I did not even know I lusted THAT much after him...geesh.
Must have been because a couple of days ago I saw the Strokes live on MTV..he was wearing a nice jacket..I own a similar jacket now.
Okay..I need to find some time-consuming hobbies because my mind needs to be active with less...well embarrasing things...

Having a very rough time in Buenos Aires; free champagne at an art-party we sort of "crashed" at the MALBA. Hanging around with the Buenos Aires artist elite.
We were even asked whether we were artists..Future artists my dear, future artists.
Apparently we are on the guestlist for a party on saturday...

[Oct. 27th, 2005|10:54 am] |
Right. Am in the MOST metropolitan city in South-America...
And simply am NOT able to find the Arcade Fire on an audio-format...ANYWHERE..and I will not even try to find the new dEUS...Not to mention I can not even locate a single English magazine (I desperately need to read the new EMPIRE)
But: Have seen the Corpse Bride, and am going to see Fischerspooner and the Strokes in the next couple of days. Ooh and be a tart in Blondie.
Ooh and somehow managed to lose 200 dollars along the way (nowhere to be found, which my travel-companion will grill me for..which isn't his business anyway..aah well)
Gaahhh. |

Tomorrow, at this exact time my plane to New York will be taking off: finally I will be able to see MoMa and the Guggenheim, and take some cheesy touristy pictures of that big lady with the torch.
After the metropolitan life it's on to the plains, deserts, jungles of Peru, Bolivia, Chili and possibly Argentina.....I'm a city-girl so I am pretty curious on how I will cope with all of the nature. So I'm not too sure on whether I'll update this thing or not (seeing as I have a travel-log as well). Enjoy the autumn!

- The Dutch are, in general, very loud..and omni-present
- The weather responds to good music: bad music (weird swedish alt-country rockers Saint Thomas) means rain, good music (Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix) makes the rain stop
- Haldern is the sweetest festival of all time, tiny, muddy, and just a healthy walk away from your basic cheap cheap-supermarket (aka buy as many bottles of wine you can carry)
- Phoenix are the friendliest frenchmen I have ever seen, and a really great band
- Franz Ferdinand will never bore me
- Having matching outfits is fun, but not when you are wearing them beneath three layers of raincoats/jackets/vests
- My dig-cam isn't ALL that; pics of kaiser chiefs/franz did not come out good
- Danes playing polka metal can be quite scaring
- Checking whether the tent you're lending from your friend's sister actually has a working zipper is a very good idea; even better when you do that before you drive off to a field in Germany
( Click to see the trashiest tent of the festival! ) |

| | Annoying Lenny Kravitz on work-radio | ] | I am a girly girl, I like pink things, pretty clothes, nice shoes and bags. When it comes to music and movies I get more boy-ish (I like to memorise stupid facts, I'm very much into Batman and Star Wars..) and contrary to most girls (I have experience in these things) I can actually read a map and find my way around a town.
What I can't do is practical things like hang a lamp, or fix a cycle tyre.
When I got up this morning one of my tyres was flat, it's 7:15 I have go to work..and my tyre is flat. There is no start of the day quite like that, only good thing was that it didn't rain when I had to walk for half an hour.
I don't have any time to fix my tyre or bring it to the bike-shop today, I have to work, and after that I have to head back to my parents: tomorrow I will be going to the fabulous Haldern Open Air (Phoenix, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand etc) in Germany, and I get to take the car. I won't get back till Sunday-evening, and the next morning I have to work again.
In times like these it would be swell if I either would be on speaking terms with my father, or have a boyfriend (they both usually fix my tyres...)
I'm so not a feminist: anyone want to fix my tyre? I could bake you a cake!
P.S: does anybody know where I can get those amazing pottter-puff-icons? |

| | cunty radio @ work | ] | My thesis has been approved, so I can graduate in August, which is fab.
My life currently consists of my summer job (receptionist-extraordinaire!) having drinks in the sun with my friends, going out, and visiting concerts. Life is peachy when I'm in Nijmegen.
Last sunday it was time to Rock a Park (or Rockin'park) and REM and Interpol were amazing, I think because I was pretty hyped and out of it emotional-wise, the music really hit me like a sledgehammer. I was quite literally shaking during Interpol, and after their set I was way too energetic: really odd. REM was more of a big healing hug, Micheal Stipe really is great on a stage, and they played a lovely set with oldies...again during Nightswimming I felt the tears welling up.
I usually am pretty in control of myself, but sunday was weird. The music triggered something.
Ignoring the fact I had to get up at 6:20 the next morning, I went to an afterpary in town with my friends. I got home at 3:30, but it was rather difficult to fall asleep so I think I must have slept an hour or something.
So, Rockin' Park rocked! (also saw Queens of the Stone Age, Ozark Henry and the Tears)
Made some kewl pictures, will put them online later.
This Friday I'm going to see Soulwax in Doornroosje..don't know anyone else who's going...aah well..go with the flow.
Oohh..and everyone has to see BATMAN BEGINS it is ACE!
Edit: put my best Rockin'Park pics online on weblogs.bnn.nl/nuzje-in-lalalaland |
